Joshua Hebb

Founder

Joshua Hebb is a passionate innovator with a background in civil infrastructure and construction. After years of first-hand experience seeing the way the city is built, he was called to think differently. He began developing a plan to target food security in Calgary while addressing environmental stewardship and community vitality. He is determined to make Calgary a beacon of what’s possible for bettering our relationships to each other and to what we eat.

Jas Bains

Jas is a born and raised Calgarian with over 15 years of experience in the supply chain and food distribution industry.  His expertise includes finance, operations, and quality management. He cares deeply about food sustainability and working with organizations that teach, help, and grow others.  Building stronger communities through knowledge and relationships are very important to him.


Marisa Barber

Director

Marisa comes from a farming family in central Iowa and has a deep appreciation for the land and what it means to be able to grow and have access to food. She is glad to be part of the Hands On Growing team, where she can help support communities in not only learning how to grow sustainably but also in connecting with each other and the planet.


Jayne Moffat

Director

Jayne grew up on a farm in rural Manitoba and understands the efficacy of food sustainability.  She has over 25 years of Learning and Development experience in provincial and municipal governments, post-secondary educational institutions, retail and manufacturing industries.  The ability for communities to become educated in the ability to grow and provide food is an important life skill that should be passed to future generations.
